Welcome to Tar Heel Diving

The Tar Heel Diving club practices in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Our pool is in Koury Natatorium, the home of the North Carolina Tar Heels! The Koury Natatorium is located adjacent to the Dean E. Smith Center.

Divers work on building their Junior Olympic (JO) list of dives to compete in the USA Diving Region 3 competitions held twice a year. Our divers train year-round. We have two 1 meter boards, two 3 meter boards, and a 3 and 5 meter Platform. The divers utilize both trampoline and dry board , each with a spotting rig for practice.

Divers benefit from watching their dives on instant digital video reply.

THD is committed to providing a learning process that encourages and challenges young athletes to reach their highest potential. The THD staff strives to create a positive and enjoyable experience at all levels of diving. Divers learn a work ethic inclusive of skills, goal setting, discipline, and sportsmanship as well as team accountability.
