Going Away Party For Jon Fox

July 19th, 2010 by Kevin Lawrence, Head Coach
Parents,

On July 29th, at 5:00. we will be having a going away party for Jon Fox.  For those of you who have not heard, he will be leaving in August after he graduates and moving on to get a job for Physical Therapy.  We are asking anyone who was a former diver, current diver, or HS diver that knows Jon from or associated with THD to stop by and wish him good luck.

For this party, I am going to have snacks available in the team room.  I will get him a cake and bring a veggie tray and some 2 liter bottles of soda.  If you would like to bring a SMALL snack to share that would be great.  I figure we could have a fun day of diving from 5:00 to 6:00, and then wish Jon good luck as we can all say goodbye to him.

Instead of getting him a gift or plaque, I am asking that if people want to chip in, they can send me a check for whatever amount they want to give him.  I will collect the checks and write him out one check as a gift from THD to him.  After graduating, I’m sure he can use a good amount of cash.

Please make out the check to THD and put Jon in the memo.  I will not be here starting Wednesday, so if you cannot get it to me by tomorrow, mail it to:

Total amounts you give will be kept confidential between me and you.  Jon will never know the amount.  He and I don’t care if it was $5.00 or $100.00.  It’s the thought that counts.  I will be contributing to the check as well.  I will give him one check from the whole team.

Jon is a great guy, a wonderful coach, and a terrific role model for all the divers.  He clearly is the best diving coach I have worked with and will be irreplaceable.  He is going to be missed tremendously.

Thanks for your contribution.  Enough will never be enough.

Best…

Kevin
