FRIDAY PARKING FOR PRACTICE

FRIDAY EVENING PRACTICE ALERT!

We will be having normal practice this Friday, November 14 despite the UNC Women’s Basketball Game.  We need everyone’s cooperation to make the following adjustments:

• Skipper Bowles Drive (the road that Koury is on) will be closed in front of the Smith Center down to Manning Drive.  The road will be blockaded.  Please do not try to access Koury by pulling up to the pool on Bowles Drive.
• The road closure and the game mean that we will not be able to use our regular parking lots.  On Friday, we need everyone to park in the Bowles lot.  If you are standing in front of Koury and looking toward the water tower, the Bowles lot is the one directly in your line of sight.  It is just past the entrance to the business school.
• You may access this lot by taking Manning drive to the traffic light at the top of the hill, and coming down the hill to the Bowles lot.  You will not be permitted to travel past the Bowles lot.
• This parking lot is not far away, but parents of 12 & Under kids need to walk their children from the lot to Koury.  PLEASE DO NOT JUST DROP THEM OFF.  This is a traffic safety issue as well as a crowd safety issue.  We want to make sure all of our swimmers get safely into Koury and don’t venture into places where they are not supposed to be.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of all of our members abiding by these policies on Friday night.  The Smith Center and the Athletic Administration have been very generous in allowing us to practice during women’s basketball games and other events.  If we fail to abide by these policies, we could forfeit our opportunity to practice on those days.
