2012 HERE WE COME – LOTS OF STUFF!!!!!!!
Parents,
I hope everyone had a great holiday break. As if time does not go fast enough, the next 3 or 4 months are going to fly by. Here are some updates:
As some of you may know, Kaci is doing an internship in Raleigh. She will be able to coach Saturdays for platform (no practice this sat due to meet at the GAC). But she will not be here during the weekdays. Kristin will fill in and I asked Tyler Beard one of my college divers from Florida who coaches tons this summer to also coach. Meg McDaniels (Claire’s mom) will also be filling in. She is a great coach (former U of Alabama diver) who loves to work with the team. Please welcome these new coaches.
Also, since the next 2 months are my busy times with the college divers, make note to your diver that even though I am not here (as the head coach working with them) they need to treat all coaches with respect and digntiy. Working with different coaches helps the divers get better.
We are going to have a MONDATORY team meeting on MONDAY January 23rd. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Beginner and JO. This will be about the Region Meet we are hosting this summer. It will start at 6:30 and run to about 7:00. Please set time aside for this meet. I scheduled it for a Monday so both the JO and beginner parents can attend.
The Spring Region meet in Greensboro (March 2nd-4th) is approching quickly. If your diver is planning on attending let me know. Susan Braman (the aquatics director for GAC) asked me if our parents could help that weekend, and I volunteered that we could help. It also would be good practice to get ready for our summer region meet. I’m guessing that she may need help signing up for concessions and working the table. More on this at our meeting as well.
There is no practice tonight, BB game. Last one for awhile.
Finally, my Peace Corps posting is going to be in Mongolia. I will depart on June 1st! If anyone knows anyone that speaks Mongolian, please let me know. My next task is to find a tutor that could assist me before I leave.
Thanks!
Kevin
